Day 1 Lavish Decorations, Twinkling Lights and Christmas Eve Gathering
Join fellow travelers for a festive holiday getaway with the Exploration gang. Sit back and relax enjoying traditional holiday tunes as you travel by motorcoach to Portland, Oregon. Each year the historic Pittock Mansion becomes extravagantly decorated with a holiday theme. This year these festive displays, nineteen rooms in the home and four in the Gate Lodge, will reflect “Home for the Holidays” featuring five iconic decades — from the 1910s through the 1950s. And we promise you’ll love the grand foyer — it’s being decorated to wow everyone that enters! We’ll gather around the table for a festive late lunch sharing thoughts on our favorite rooms. Then ride through Winter Wonderland, one of the largest holiday light shows in the Pacific Northwest. Over two miles and a million lights will dazzle you with dinosaurs, sea creatures, a candy forest, leaping reindeer, the 12 Days of Christmas, shimmering tunnels, and magnificent archways. Check in for an overnight stay at the newly renovated Oxford Suites. Meet this evening for a holiday gathering that includes a gift exchange and holiday treats. (L,S)
Day 2 Did Santa Come? Christmas Morning Breakfast and Buffet Lunch Cruise on the Spirit of Portland
If you were on Santa’s good list, we’re sure he found you last night. Relax this morning at the hotel. There will be a hot and cold breakfast buffet served until 10:00am. Feel free to come in your jammies and enjoy it in your room. Depart on the bus for the Spirit of Portland where a traditional Christmas day buffet will be served as we cruise on the Willamette River. The ship will be decorated and include live holiday music in the background. We will join be by our group members coming down for the day as you dine on:
