Only a few of Leavenworth’s Bavarian traditions are still celebrated in the charming village and Maifest is one of those, celebrating 55 years. The sun is out, the apple and pear blossoms have sprung to life, and the wildflowers are bursting at the buds! So gather your lederhosen and dirndls’ and get on the bus as we head into the mountains. Maifest is a German tradition dating back to the 10th century when villagers would gather to celebrate the arrival of spring. Today, is completely filled with music, dancing and activities with a traditional parade, dancing in the streets, art in the park, and more. Depart for home at 4:00pm.
