This time of year, spring has arrived, baby animals are appearing, and snow is still outlining the beautiful Rocky Mountains—making for stunning photos. Our hotel partners offer special rates and pass these savings on to you! The BC Wildlife Park has a variety of British Columbia species in spacious exhibits on beautiful grounds.

The tour will include a full day on the Icefields Parkway with stops at Lake Louise and the new Columbia Icefield Skywalk experience, featuring waterfalls, wildlife, fossils, and a walkway that leads to a platform where glass is all that separates you from the valley and glaciers. Watch for baby black bears snacking on dandelions and bighorn sheep grazing in green fields. If we are lucky, we might even spot a mama and baby moose!

We take one route up and a different one back, offering unique stops and dining options along the way—including an opportunity to relax in the hot spring pools. Day 1     Cross the Cascades to BC Wine Country  Osoyoos

Your journey begins as you depart aboard our comfortable motorcoach with restroom, traveling east across the cascades through the scenic landscapes. Enjoy views of rolling orchards, mountain vistas, and charming small towns along the way. Midday, you’ll pause for a hosted lunch at Rocky Reach Dam. Stretch your legs, take in views of the Columbia River, and learn about this impressive hydroelectric site. The interpretive center recently re-opened after a  50 million dollar upgrade program began. enjoy a delightful stop at a local farm market, where you can browse fresh produce, homemade treats, and cool off with a refreshing apple slushie—a regional favorite. After crossing the Canadian border, the scenery transitions into the sun-soaked beauty of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Osoyoos—Canada’s warmest desert region—where sparkling lake views, vineyards, and golden hills welcome you for a relaxing evening.  (L)

Day 2     Keremeos Grist Mill and Heritage Gardens, Three Valley Gap Ghost Town

This morning, depart Osoyoos and travel north through the scenic Okanagan Valley, known for its orchards, vineyards, and sweeping lake views. Your first stop is the charming Kreemos Grist Mill and Heritage Garden, where you’ll step back in time and enjoy a leisurely visit surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens, historic buildings, and the peaceful sounds of the working mill. It’s a delightful and relaxing experience that captures the spirit of early pioneer life.  Continuing on, stop at Planet Bee Honey Farm in Vernon for a delightful and informative visit. Learn about the fascinating world of bees, sample a variety of local honey, and browse unique bee-inspired products—an engaging and easy experience for all. From here, sit back and enjoy the scenic drive through mountain passes and along rushing rivers enroute to Three Valley Gap. Arriving by late afternoon, you’ll settle into your unique lakeside accommodations and have time to explore this historic ghost town setting nestled in a dramatic alpine valley.  (B,D)

Day 3     BC Rail History and Golden Sky Bridge Experience

This morning, depart the unique setting of Three Valley Gap and continue your journey east through the breathtaking scenery of Glacier National Park, where towering peaks, lush forests, and rushing rivers create a truly unforgettable drive. Along the way, enjoy a stop at the Revelstoke Railway Museum, where fascinating exhibits and historic railcars bring Canada’s railway history to life in an engaging and easy-to-explore setting. Continuing onward, you’ll pause at the iconic Last Spike site, where the final spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven—an important and memorable moment in Canadian history. Take time for photos and to reflect on this landmark achievement. By afternoon, arrive in Golden and experience the thrilling Golden Skybridge, home to Canada’s highest suspension bridges. You’ll walk 426 feet above an expansive canyon, engulfed by the Columbia Valley. The epic views of the Rocky and Purcell mountain ranges will take your breath away.  There is options to simply enjoy the scenery or explore the surrounding pathways. After a full day of discovery, settle in for a two night stays in Golden BC, less the 1 hour from Lake Louise and the Ice Fields.

Day 4     Lake Louise, Ice Fields Parkway, Skywalk and Snow Coach RIde

Today promises to be one of the most breathtaking highlights of your journey. Depart Golden and travel into the heart of the Canadian Rockies, arriving at stunning Lake Louise, where turquoise waters and towering mountain peaks create an unforgettable setting. Take time to stroll along the lakeshore, capture photos, and soak in the serene beauty of this iconic destination. Continue along the world-renowned Icefields Parkway, considered one of the most scenic drives in North America. Along the way, marvel at glaciers, waterfalls, and dramatic alpine landscapes before arriving at the Columbia Icefield. Here, enjoy an unforgettable Ice Explorer Snowcoach ride onto the Athabasca Glacier—an incredible opportunity to stand on ancient ice. Your adventure continues with a visit to the Glacier Skywalk, a glass-floored observation platform suspended high above the Sunwapta Valley, offering sweeping views of the rugged terrain below. Day 5     Lake Minnewanka Cruise, Banff and Hot Springs

Depart Golden this morning and travel east into the heart of the Canadian Rockies, where dramatic mountain scenery surrounds you at every turn. Your first highlight of the day is a visit to beautiful Lake Minnewanka, where you’ll enjoy a relaxing scenic cruise across the glacial waters, taking in stunning views of rugged peaks and learning about the area’s rich natural and cultural history. Continue on to the charming town of Banff, nestled in Banff National Park. Here, you’ll have time to explore at your leisure—browse unique shops, enjoy lunch, or simply take in the vibrant alpine atmosphere and surrounding mountain vistas.  This afternoon, journey south through Kootenay National Park, following a spectacular route of soaring cliffs and winding valleys. By sunset, arrive in Radium Hot Springs, where you can unwind and enjoy the peaceful setting of this quaint mountain village.  (B)

Day 6    Bavarian Kimberly,  Guided Wetlands Canoe Tour, Kootenai River to Idaho

Depart Radium Hot Springs this morning and travel south through the scenic Columbia Valley, where dramatic mountain views and wide-open landscapes accompany your journey. Midday, enjoy a relaxing stop in the charming Bavarian-style town of Kimberley, where you can stroll the pedestrian-friendly Platzl, browse unique shops, and enjoy a hosted lunch at Bear’s Pie Factory. Don’t Miss checking out the giant cuckoo clock. Continuing south, experience the natural beauty of the region with a guided canoe tour at the Creston Valley Discovery Centre. Glide peacefully through tranquil wetlands as knowledgeable guides share insights about the area’s diverse wildlife and ecosystem—an easy and immersive way to connect with nature. After crossing into the United States, follow the Kootenai River into Sand Point for an overnight stay. (L)

Day 7    Spokane River Gondola’s, Manito Park Gardens and Thorpe Fruit Barn 

Depart Sandpoint this morning and travel west through the scenic Idaho Panhandle into eastern Washington. Your first stop is in Spokane, where you’ll enjoy a ride on the Spokane Falls SkyRide Gondola, offering spectacular views of the Spokane River and dramatic waterfalls from above. Next, visit Manito Park and Botanical Gardens, including the Conservatory, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through beautifully maintained gardens and relax in this peaceful setting. Continuing west after lunch in the Spokane area, make a delightful stop at the famous Thorp Fruit & Antique Mall, a longtime traveler favorite. Browse local produce, baked goods, specialty treats, and unique antiques—perfect for picking up a snack or a souvenir for the journey home. From here, sit back and relax as you make your way across Washington State, arriving back in Tacoma in the early evening with wonderful memories of your Rockies and Okanagan adventure.
